Superintendent

Welcome to the Superintendent’s Page! Hot Springs County School District #1 has amazing students, staff, administrators, and parent partnerships. Our district facilities are outstanding and continue to be a source of community pride. The District believes that student learning is our fundamental purpose in addition to building collaborative relationships and focusing on results for our students.

A seven-member Board of Trustees that is committed to excellence, is goal-oriented, and bases their decisions simply on what is best for our students serves HSCSD #1. I applaud their work, their commitment to community service, and their investment in children, our most precious resource.

One of my greatest comforts and pleasures is to know that the outstanding team of teachers and staff of Hot Springs County School District #1 faithfully serve the students of Hot Springs County including my own. We simply could not ask for a better team of professionals, to help build our children’s futures.

About Me: I grew up in a small town in Idaho before attending the University of Montana Western where I earned a Bachelor of Science in education in Health, Physical Education, and Social Studies. In addition to earning my degree, I was also a member of the UMW football team during my time at the University of Montana Western.

During my teaching career I was blessed to teach high school health and physical education, and elementary physical education. I also served as the district athletic director and the head coach for both football and wrestling.

When I chose to continue my growth as an educator, I pursued my Master’s Degree in educational administration. Following the completion of that degree, I was given the wonderful opportunity to come to Thermopolis as the principal of Hot Springs County High School. Working with the tremendous high school staff and students will be memories that I will always cherish.

Since 2011, I have been truly honored to serve the Thermopolis community as the Superintendent of Schools. Thermopolis has tremendous pride in its students, schools, and the community itself. There is simply no other place I would rather live and raise my family, which includes my wife Heidi and our four children.

If I can ever be of assistance in any way, please do not hesitate to contact my office and I will do my very best to assist you. GO BOBCATS!!!
