Lights On Afterschool is a program offered to support student, parent, and community needs. The program is currently federally funded through a 21st Century Community Learning Center (21CCLC) grant and in direct partnership with Hot Springs County School District #1. The purpose of this grant is to provide academic and enrichment activities for all students, by offering various opportunities. There are 3 main goals of the 21CCLC grant, which include: establishing community learning centers that help students meet academic achievement standards, offering a broad array of high-quality enrichment activities that are aligned with and complement the regular academic school day while positively affecting student outcomes, and providing programming to engage families of participating students. Lights On Afterschool provides a unique opportunity to provide support to what is being taught during the school day and to build background knowledge and experience. With multiple activities, themes, and programming, we offer something for everyone! See individual school programs for more details.
