Lights On After School Program

LightsOnLights On Afterschool is a program offered to support student, parent, and community needs. The program is currently federally funded by a 21st Century Community Learning Center grant and in direct partnership with Hot Springs County School District #1. The purpose of this grant is to provide academic and enrichment activities for all students. Goals include: establishing community learning centers that help students meet academic achievement standards, offer a broad array of high-quality enrichment activities that are aligned with and complement the regular academic school day while positively affecting student outcomes, and to provide programming to engage families. Lights On provides a unique opportunity to provide support to what is being taught during the school day and to build background knowledge and experience. With multiple activities, themes, and programming, we offer something for everyone! See individual school programs for specific details.

My name is Julia Scott and I am originally from Cinnaminson, New Jersey. I met my boyfriend, Drew Brown while attending the University of Wyoming. In 2015, I graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Geography. I worked as a ski school instructor at multiple ski resorts around the country for 6 years; a substitute teacher both in Powell and Thermopolis K-12; an intensive para-professional in Metlakatla, AK; and in 2018 I worked as the TMS Makerspace Teacher, Afterschool Site Coordinator, and begun running for the local ambulance. I love camping, hiking, snowboarding and adventuring with my boyfriend and dogs.
