Korinne Thoren grew up in Lander, WY participating in competitive sports, enjoying art and Spanish studies, and escaping outside in the beautiful Wind River Mountains. In 2015, she graduated from the University of Wyoming with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Art Education degrees in conjunction with Spanish studies and endorsement. Later, after beginning her teaching career, she pursued her Master’s degree in Spanish Language Teaching through Southern Oregon University during her summers in Guanajuato, Mexico. She has studied abroad in Barcelona, Spain, northern Turkey, and Mexico as well as traveled to Costa Rica, Jamaica, the Bahamas, Ireland, Scotland, and Spain. Since teaching at HSCHS Korinne has led two international student travel trips with Spanish Club to Peru and the Dominican Republic, with a third planned to Costa Rica in 2021. Korinne’s Spanish teaching goal is to spark a curiosity for learning about new places and people, a passion for travel, and a global perspective.
