My name is Kent Hessenthaler. I am a Wyoming native, having lived all of my life in the Big Horn Basin. In 1981 I married Stacy Hudspeth (She is a Wyoming native also) and in a few months we will have been married for 30 years!
Stacy and I are the proud parents of 4 children. Our oldest daughter is married and has two children. She and her husband, Gary Linton, own the “Blimpies” sub shop in Thermopolis. Our only son is named Kyle. He currently lives in Thermopolis and works at “Pizza Hut.” He also runs a small computer repair service out of his house. Sharena is our 3rd child, and she is currently enrolled in the nursing program at Northwest College in Powell Wyoming. Our youngest child is Shantel, a 7th grader at the middle school in Thermopolis.
I graduated from the University of Wyoming with a BS in mathematics in 1984, and have been teaching and coaching in the Thermopolis school system since that time. In that time I have taught both mathematics and Spanish at both the high school and at the middle school. I have also coached MS football, HS football, MS basketball, and MS track.
I have many hobbies that occupy my time outside of school. One hobby has made me well known in Thermopolis – I raise and sell sweet corn on my small farm just south of town. During the months of August and September you can almost always find me out in my corn patch picking corn when school is not in session.
Thermopolis and the school district in Thermopolis have been good to me. I truly appreciate working with the youth in our town and look forward to many more years of a productive life.
